Yes, Virginia, I have been waiting to unload this clever PaulBat graphic I have concocted several weeks ago. On to the main event:

Complete silliness, if you ask me. And yes, this is a few days old, but for lack of anything else truly exciting developing from Dr. Paul’s quixotic campaign (short of him dropping out to run as a spoiler vote as a sort of misplaced revenge for Ralph Nader spoiling the GoreBot’s fun in 2000).

As for that possible independent (which Ron Paul has denied with a couched hint that he *just might* change his mind) — I could see him doing exactly that.

Especially if Herr Hillary or Oprahbama pass him some cash under the table). because, I’ve really got to wonder how Dr. Paul is going to use that roughly $12M he has collected from his earnest, but hopeless legions of followers (most of whom seem to spend their waking hours uploading blimp videos on YouTube and flash-mobbing various online polls to make it look as if 80% or better of the population unanimously supports him). This Blimp project is unrelated to his campaign fundraising by law and by design, and represent a considerable investment of resources.

Surely he isn’t going to concede defeat gracefully come Super Tuesday (being the hardcase that he is, I seriously doubt he’ll drop out on account of failing to collect any of the early primary states/Iowa caucus)… and I highly doubt he is going to refund anyone’s money when it becomes obvious that the GOP won’t have anything to do with him - I’m sure the fine folks at Nazis”R”Us (Stormfront.org) who donated some of their hard-scrounged cash will appreciate that, too.

One can only hope that the spoiler effect has a blowback that effects the Dems as it might pull off enough of the hard-core anti-war moonbats to balance things out, but I’m gathering an Independent Paul run will cost the GOP many more votes than it will the Dems.

Having said that, I shall now retire to my chambers and await the possible onslaught of Ronulans who may come here to defend their good doctor’s honour.
