I found this on a site that seemingly would have been maintained by FredHeads… but it turns out to be either a clever ruse, or something that has been taken over by a bunch of RonPaulBots™.
I generally don’t cotton much to conspiracy theories, although I have loosely followed the SPP (Security and Prosperity Plan) which would be a very loose (currently) analog to the former European Economic Community (EEC) of the 1950s-1970s. Remember that this was the era before it really started to take shape as a real economic entity, much less a political one.
More commentary, prophetic pontifications, and other babblings of mine after the video and the jump…
SPP is more or less a natural progression from NAFTA, which is something I regard as a bit of a mixed blessing. I would have been much more warm to this idea if it were only Canada and the USA, since these two economies have less of a distance to travel until a sort of economic equilibrium is reached. That is to say, whatever disparity that may exist between the USA and Canada (differences in size of and wealth of their respective middle classes and overall wealth) are much less than what will be expected by bringing in Mexico into the mix, to say nothing of the obvious balancing factors of dealing with a three-nation mix. The USA, as the “middleman” would be the fulcrum point, and in my opinion, most susceptible to instabilities arising from the eventual economic equilibrium that would result between the three nations (with America’s middle classes feeling the worst of the pinch, with an additional 120 million Mexicans of substantially lower per capita wealth being readily absorbed, to say nothing of expected wage depressions).
The PaulBots take it several steps forward, indicating that the eventual outcome of the SPP into a “North American Union”, complete with a replacement currency for the CAN$, USD$, and the Mexican Peso, speculatively denominated as the “Amero”, much like the EEC begat the EC, which also begat today’s EU with its surging Euro (€).
Of course, given an overall trend toward globalization of trade, this could well be an accurate omen of a globalized sovereignty, which truly would be rife with danger (nations tend to endure more so than large empires cobbled together, much less a unitary global empire)
What does the Word of God say about this?
In Short: The general tendency of man is to build himself up into an empire, in direct contradiction to accepting God’s rulership over our lives.
The Details:
We do have a pattern that (unregenerate) man has taken to historically, as well as in Biblical history. And it goes back as far as the first true “global” empire, that of the Akkadians under Sargon the Great (who is thought to be one and the same with Nimrod of Genesis 10:8-10, KJV), or possibly a title he took (where “Sar-” is rendered as “king” or “leader”).
This Nimrod as a “mighty hunter before the LORD“… and an alternate rendition of the Hebrew word “before” (paniym - פנים ) according to Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, “against the LORD”
Some scholars have debated the usage of paniym regarding whether or not Nimrod was a hunter “against” God and His believers - that is to say, that Nimrod aggressively persecuted those who believed in and sought after the Coming Seed (Jesus) as promised by Father God to Adam; additionally, that this same Nimrod sought to unite the world under him in a Luciferian system of worship (the early Akkadians and Babylonians have been credited with [re]discovering the dark arts of astrology, meteorology, and divination/witchcraft)… and along with it, secret orders of priests and acolytes and other aspirants to the “hidden knowledge” kept away from the filthy masses.
Other scholars have argued that this meaning of paniym simply meant that Nimrod was an exceedingly noteworthy hunter “before”, that is, in the sight of, the LORD: God took note of him… without regard to Nimrod’s moral alignment or activity on earth. I haven chosen to reject this, and instead go with the more accepted view that Nimrod’s activity was largely directed against God.
Let us examine some of the effects that Nimrod’s rule as the founder of that first world-empire in the plain of Shinar had.
First, he commanded the necessary attention to become his own cult of personality: “he began to be a mighty one in the earth”. (Genesis 10:8b, KJV) A natural consequence of becoming (in)famous is that such a one attracts the attention, and if famous enough, the affection and eadulation of the masses. Hollywood stars and (at least in the USA) sports stars are evidence of this in our modern era. So also are great politicians and other capable people who inspire awe and admiration, these people can build up “a cult following”. In like manner, even villainous souls like Charles Manson, David Koresh, and Jim Jones built up their cults - with disastrous results. All of these have as their example and type, ol’ Nimrod himself.
A key result of this ancient Babylonian cult (of personality around Nimrod) was construction of the Tower of Babel. The works of Josephus (Antiquities of the Jews) and some readings of the Midrash indicate that Nimrod was responsible for this tower (most likely a temple ziggurat built to honor Nimrod as a Messianic figure) which singularly focused the attention of the majority of mankind on Nimrod in particular, and away from the True God, the Creator.
Indeed, a king who is able to co-opt the people’s worship into making him a god - this Nimrod, fourth from Noah, had close knowledge of the Creator and His promised Seed. In his great vanity of mind, could he have seen himself as the fulfillment of that promise? Or if not, would he not seek to attempt to deprive the Creator of His glory and right to fulfill the promise?
A second effect this had was to keep people from spreading out over the face of the earth - with such a heroic man (Nimrod) and mighty hunter (perhaps also earning that distinction by ably taking down those most extraordinary “prehistoric” beasts that survived the Flood aboard Noah’s Ark - the remnants of the Dinosaurs) would much easily keep the people preoccupied and enthralled, and so he would claim to pre-empt God’s command to worship the True God, and keep them under his thumb. As a single nation, with no opponents to check or to discipline them.
The end result is that Nimrod was the post-Flood epoch’s first antichrist. As will be the case when the final Antichrist - the Man of Perdition - arrives, so to will the masses of unbelieving men and women become enthralled by his seemingly divine charms; and it will take an act of Divine intervention to prevent that final Antichrist from enslaving and then destroying all humankind (in defiance to God’s promise never to destroy all flesh from the earth as He did in the case of the Flood) as much as He did when He brought the Tower to a halt and scattered the tongues and the people.
(a) “And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein” (Gen. 9:7, KJV) i.e. subduing the earth, i.e. spreading out over the face of the earth and having lots of babies.
(b) Worshiping the LORD as God.
What all this really means is, that even as far back as Nimrod’s day - we humans were choosing to follow certain strong men- and even worshiping them in cults of personality. Possibly this came about because of the then-recent extinction of the monstrous “giants” (Nephilim) and “men of reknown” (Gibborim גּבּור ) - those children of the “sons of God (the ‘Watchers’) and the daughters of men” who were the Titans, the Olympians, the Vedic gods, and the Vanir/Aesir (among so many others) deities of that antediluvian age. Without these vile, rapacious, and demonic horrors stalking the earth to command the worship of humankind - who were far weaker by comparison, even if those men and women were more genetically complete than modern man - it was only natural those pagan, unregenerate, God-forgetting people turn their worship to the next set of tyrants and mighty men (Gibborim) down the food chain.
Nimrod (or Sargon, if you care to identify him as such) was certainly the first of many god-emperor cults - entrenching himself as an incarnation the of the antediluvian “diety” Dummuzi, (also only of the pre-flood kings of the Gilgamesh epic) better known to us today as Tammuz. Or in the case of the ancient Chinese emperors, the huangdi “sons of heaven”, deriving their right to rule as the “Mandate of Heaven”, or the Japanese emperor, who reigns even today as the Tennō Heika (His Majesty, the Emperor 天皇陛下 ) where the first two glyphs 天皇 “Tennō” literally mean “Heavenly King”. This is a title that the Creator reserves for Himself (Psalm 103:19; Psalm 24:1-2,10; Psalm 29:10, Malachi 1:14) and He is well within His rights to depose any sovereign who dares take for himself God’s glory - (Isaiah 48:11).
In modern times, it should not be so surprising then, that there are cults of personality and “mysterious orders” of people dedicated to those cults which strive day and night to remove as many people from the knowledge and worship of the true God and Lover of our souls, that God Who loved us unto the death of His only-begotten Son.
Call it conspiracy theorism if you like - and I won’t be bothered to go down every snake path and say “CFR this” or “Freemasonry that”, but suffice it to say that there are numerous cults that seek to tempt the sons and daughters of humankind with the precious and deceptive fruits of “hidden knowledge” to worship many a false Christ with - and in so doing, all of these seem to have a common theme of “uniting the world” as one anti-Christian entity.
Mark this, in that the Bible which is Faithful and True, has promised that a day will come when the final Antichrist does unite this world and enthrall it with the devil’s lies of a salvation apart from Jesus Christ. Whether it comes from the so-called “globalist conspiracy” much talked up by the RonPaulBots, or as a result of one of many other schemes and plots remains to be seen.
The key things for the saints to be concerned with are their own walk with Christ, and the winning of souls to Christ.
* There were roughly seven such ordinances, often referred to as the “Noachide Law”, which are inferred from reading Genesis chap. 7 through chap. 9, which bar idolatry, sexual immorality, eating the blood of animals, murder, theft, blasphemy, and a requirement to set up courts of justice for civil law. While all men, as descendants of Noah, are arguably subject to these laws, they are certainly extended upon and defined most clearly for Jews (under the Laws of Moses) and Christians (under the Perfect Law and understood by those who have the Holy Spirit of Truth dwelling within them).
