Apparently, some folks seem to think that the Bible is nothing but a bunch of stories of horrific violence, lust, and other generally bad things. Which is not surprising for those whose eyes have been blinded by the “prince of the power of the air (media)”, that is, the Devil.

Less surprising still, is that this is taking place in Hong Kong, as Conservative Culture notes:

Yes. It happened in Hong Kong. Oh… did we forget that Hong Kong is now Communist land. So is this ’spontaneous’ uprising real or communist inspired. I’ll let intelligent minds make up their own mind.

Hundreds of residents have flooded Hong Kong’s media decency watchdog group with complaints against the Bible for its sexual and violent contents.

Protestors call on authorities to reclassify the Bible as “indecent,” which would make it illegal for minors under 18 years of age to purchase and would cause the Bible to be wrapped with a statutory warning notice.

As of noon on Wednesday, Hong Kong’s Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority (TELA) said it had received 838 complaints about the Bible, according to Reuters.

“I can confirm that the complaints were received,” said a TELA spokeswoman to Agence France-Presse. “The thrust of the complaints was that the Bible was obscene, that different parts of the Bible were offensive to readers.”

TELA refused to give details of the complaints but local media say they refer to acts of violence, rape, incest and cannibalism.

Could the Bible require a mature rating or a label warning it’s potential readers? Or is it a ploy to keep young people in China from reading it. Sure… give your child a Bible and receive a sentence for corrupting the children. Yeah… I think that’s it. Criminalize the Bible one page at a time. Wonder when the left will think of that for America.

Scary business this is. When (not if) our resident jihadist-coddling liberal Congresscretins latch on to this idea, it may well all but spell the end of Christian expression in this nation. Combine that with the innocuously titled “The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007″ introduced by Rep. John Conyers, MI (D).

With HR 1592 expected to fly through the Senate on greased skids, it will soon be pending the President’s signature or veto (pocket veto or actual)… After all, what more would the Devil enjoy than to see our ability to freely share the Gospel, and share the Word of God with lost souls?

Christians, pray… PRAY, that the Lord Jesus move in President Bush’s heart to veto that abominable so-called “hate speech” bill, HR 1592. For us in NY, it’s pretty much a decided matter for our Senators (former president) Hillary Clinton and Chuck “There will be no more right-wing judges, period…” (as long as he is the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman) Schumer will most likely align themselves with the forces of Satan and cast thier vote for this anti-christian legislation.
